Volunteering at the San Francisco Food Bank
The shul was very well represented at its second visit to the Food Bank on Sunday, Nov. 23. As part of a project of tikkun olam – “repairing the world” -- students in our Shabbat Shalom School and some of our young adults were accompanied by school director Jennie Dahl, teacher Anna Bleviss Whitlatch, parents, and Sisterhood members. The group scooped and packaged split black-eye peas, and during the break had a tour of the large warehouse facility. The staff at the Food Bank was very welcoming and appreciative of our efforts. Our next scheduled volunteer session will be on Sunday, December 28 from 12:30-3pm.
