Rabbi Mark Melamut invites members of Congregation B’nai Emunah to join him in representing our shul at a pre-inauguration interfaith prayer service to honor incoming President Barack Obama, to be held at Grace Cathedral on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 19, at 5 p.m. The event will also recognize the Rev. Dr. King on the 79th anniversary of his birth. The service is free of charge and is sponsored by the San Francisco Interfaith Council. Among the faith participating are clergy and laity representing Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Buddhism.
The service should last about one hour, and if there is interest, B’nai Emunah members and friends may gather for dinner afterwards with Rabbi Mark.
