Tikkun Olam -- B'nai Emunah's Next Visit to the SF Food Bank
As part of our ongoing mission of tikkun olam – to repair the world – Congregation B’nai Emunah’s next visit to the San Francisco Food Bank will be Sunday, March 29, from 9a.m. to 12 noon. Regular volunteers will be joined by students, parents and teachers from our Shabbat Shalom School. Volunteers will likely be sorting, counting and assembling packets of food, so if you would like to join them, there shouldn’t be any heavy lifting or carrying. The SF Food Bank is located at 900 Pennsylvania Ave. Directions can be found at www.sffoodbank.org.
And during these difficult economic times, the SF Food Bank barrel in our lobby is more important than ever, and B’nai Emunah congregants have been stepping up! We should be proud of the fact that during the month of January our barrel had to be emptied twice -- first on Jan. 13, when 136 pounds of food were collected, and again on Jan. 29, for an additional 115 pounds. Todah rabah to everyone for their generous donations to those less fortunate than we are. Please keep your donations coming!
