Jewish Heritage Night at AT&T Park
Over 30 Congregation B’nai Emunah congregants, including Rabbi Emeritus Ted Alexander and Rabbi Mark Melamut, enjoyed a night of baseball under temperate skies on August 25 at AT&T Park. They joined scores of other Jewish fans who packed the park for Jewish Heritage Night, and saw a spirited game, which, unfortunately, the Giants lost.
The fun started in parking lot D, where Chabad provided free kosher hot dogs, water, popcorn and cotton candy; alas, the promised He’Brew beer was already gone. After Rabbi Ted helped Rabbi Langer give a spirited send-off, the group proceeded to Willie Mays Gate where the Ferris Wheels, led by Rabbi Yehuda Ferris, were playing rock and roll. This inspired spirited dancing before the fans headed into the park for the game.
The congregants sported their orange and black scarves -- which bore the words “Go Giants” in Hebrew -- and later will receive “green” tote bags, both courtesy of Shalom Bayit, which co-sponsored the evening. The group shared food and laughs and cheered raucously when B’nai Emunah’s name appeared on the Jumbotron screen. The congregants also proudly displayed the giant B’nai Emunah banner, hoping to catch the eye of the roving camera. See our pictures below!
Go Giants!
