In four sessions, David will discuss the 3000-year Jewish historical and geographical journey, from the time of the United Kingdom in the land of Israel through the rebirth and recent history of the modern State of Israel. Emphasis will be on the survival, cohesion and adaptability of the Jewish People throughout the lands of the Diaspora during different periods. There will be discussion of Jewish communities in the Christian and Muslim world; golden eras and periods of turmoil, expulsion, persecution and immigration; social and religious movements; Jewish languages and culture.
