Decoding Prayerbook and Biblical Hebrew – An Introduction

*Prerequisites: Students must be completely comfortable reading voweled Hebrew out loud. Previous foreign language study will be extremely helpful.
This class is intended for people who are comfortable participating in Jewish services, but don’t understand what they’re reading or singing. We will use sections of the Siddur to build some basic vocabulary, survey elementary Hebrew grammar, and develop strategies for decoding words and sentences.
